Does Castor Oil Help In Regrowth Of Hair And Eyelashes?

I am 67 yrs old - female- and I am experiencing rapid thinning of my hair. I have purchased just today the Argan line for thinning hair at a health food store and they said that castor oil used topically will regrow hair on your head as well as your eyelashes. Is that true?
