Does Ferrous Bisglycinate Improve Digestion And Absorption?

My doctor has diagnosed that I am severely anemic (recurring issue) and has recommended iron tablets/capsules but didn't state a dosage level. I am researching different forms of iron supplements and am curious which form you suggest for me as I have malabsorption problems as well. Do you suggest iron bisglycinate to help with digestion and absorption? How would I determine the proper mg dosage?
