Does HCG Drops Causes False Pregnancy Test Results?

I am considering going on the HCG drops to drop a few pounds. I do not take birth control, however, I use protection. I just wanted to know if taking that could cause a false positive pregnancy test? I'm skeptical about taking it because I dont even want the scare of pregnancy, but I have heard great reviews on how fast the drops work so I just had to ask..
