Does Nido Cause Cough And Cold In An Infant?

hi Doctor, I started my 14 month old on Nido. he has a lot of mucus in his nose (light yellow) and an ugly cough. I stopped the Nido and have him back on Similac. can he be allergic? and how long before this will clear if it is due to the allergy. Its been 5 days.
