Does Norethisterone Have Any Side Effects?

Hi, I am getting married on 21st may and going for honeymoon on 23rd may...my periods start around 27th of every mnth...is it ok to take the norethisterone pills around 23rd may itself?? what r d side effects??? i am going to have any such pills for the first time... is it also a birth control pill??
