Does Progesterone Affect The Menstruation Cycle?

i see a functional doctor for my pms. i have estrogen dominance so one part of my therapy is progesterone s.r.
ok, so last month i didn't take the progesterone in an effort to change my 28 day cycle as my husband (of 22 years) and i are headed by nyc on feb 12 for a long weekend. well i have a regular 28 day cycle even without the progesterone. so i am still on track to start my period feb 12. do you think since i didn't take the progesterone last month it will post pone my cycle this month? any suggestions to postpone cycle?
1-do the ibupofen method
2-take the progesterone and double up on it on my 24th day to postpone the cycle?
3-any other ideas? will birth control pill work?
