Does An Anaemic Have Higher Risk Of Contacting Respiratory Infection?

Hi, I have been anemic for some time now and on my last Dr visit I was told I was Severely anemic..I have seen a GI specialist and I am having an endo/colonoscopy in 2 weeks..My question is..I have had at least 3 respiratory infections in the past 5-6 months...Does anemia cause this?
