Does Arthritis Change The Angle Of Fingers Causing Severe Pain?

I have osteoarthiritis in my hands especially the middle metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint which is badly deformed. Now I am experiencing pain further up the hand toward the wrist. As this arthiritis continues to change the angle of my fingers will it also change the other joints which attributes to additional pain?
