Does Autoimmune Disease Cause Thickening Of Skin On Fingertips?

For at least 6 months I have had a problem with thickening skin on my fingertips. I am healthy so this is more annoying than anything. I googled thickening skin on fingertips and the most common response was sclerodera. I would immediately dismiss this but I had pleurisy a few years ago and my pulminologist didn t find what I had but at one point did tell me that I had markers for an autoimmune disease. Should I be concerned?
