Does Bisoprol/hctz Cause Palpitations? I've Been Taken It About 3

Does bisoprol/hctz cause palpitations? I've been taken it about 3 years for high blood pressure. The highest it has ever been was 147 over 93. I've had palpitations I believe before I took the medicine., because of intense anxiety. I'm wondering if the med increases it, causes it or what? Also I have lost almost 50pounds, but gained back. I now weigh 145. Do I need to continue taking this? I do not like to take medicine. My (third docter now) does not recommend me stoping it even though my blood pressure has been good almost all the time I go to the doctor for a checkup. I understand that she can't tell me about a non FDA approved medicine over the counter but I don't think she is very understanding either. She has now put me on linsinopril. I don't feel good about this. I believe I have heard bad things about this. She said it is because my pulse was a 46,and I have terrible cramps in my calves at times; and she needs to find out if it's because of the bisoprol. What do you think? It's kind of hard for me to talk to this doctor.
