Does Colonoscopy Procedure Need To Be Performed Under General Anesthesia?

I am on oxygen at night only. They want to put me totally out for a colonosopy. I don't want to be gassed. I am good with pain for short periods of time. Can't I go with the gas? I had open heart surgery
