Does Consumption Of Bleach Cause Loss Of Voice?

My dad s voice is nearly gone , his partner uses bleach to whiting her cups all the time , he has been checked for cancer and all the rest , but I believe it s the bleach , because when I get a cup of tea , my voice goes , I have told her to stop using it , but she does not take any notice
