Does Having Hydrocele Cause Pain And Swelling In Inguinal Area?

After I ejaculate, there is swelling and pain in my L inguinal area. I had an ultrasound when I was in college and was diagnosed with a hydrocele. Sometimes the swelling and pain is there and sometimes its not. Is this something that could be related to the hydrocele? Is it dangerous?
