Does Head Injury In Past Cause Random Recurring Headaches?

Hi a metal pipe hit my head a couple years back and i went to the hospital to get staples, 2 to be exact, however i have noticed that I get random pains on that side of my head and since I never received an xray I am worried that something was actually damaged in my brain and if so could you tell me what exactly could it be?
