Does Hiatus Hernia Cause Difficulty In Swallowing Solids With Mucus Reflux?

Have difficulty swallowing solids get a reflux of mucus after several mouthfuls, absolutely no acid reflux or any symptoms of heartburn, endoscopy 10 days ago revealed a large hiatus hernia 5cm sliding, my doctor believes a course of PPI’s will suffice even though there are no symptoms of acid reflux!
