Does Irregular And Missed Period Indicate Menopause?

I am 53 years old and I did not have a period in January of 2014, I did have a period February 9, 2014, no period March, period April 18, 2014 No period May, Period June 25, 2014 and from July 2014 through January 2015 no period. I started bleeding lightly February 3, 2015. I am concerned I thought I was going through menopause, I don t know is this normal?
