Does Light Menstrual Cycle Indicate Sign Of Pregnancy?

I usually have pretty heavy periods, but this month it was relatively light. I m taking birth control, but my significant other and I haven t been as careful as we usually are, and I m worried I might be pregnant. Is it possible that I am, and should I take a pregnancy test?
