Does Light Thumbnail Discharge And Odor Indicate A Healing Process?

I smashed my thumb nail two weeks ago and had it drilled out by a doctor to releive the blood pressure etc. since then, all has been going well until today. A little discharge from under the nail with the smell of rotting flesh. No pain, normal discoloration, no swelling, no redness. Normal or not???
