Does No Significant Myeloid Immaturity In My Bone Marrow Report Indicate Any Myeloid Immaturity?

My hematologist did not explain my BMB to me. I was just concerned about the CD71/GPA percentage and the expression of CD 13 CD33 CD 34 and CD 117 in my bone marrow. It states there is no SIGNIFICANT myeloid immaturity. Does that mean there is some? CROSS REFERENCE: 1. BONE MARROW (BM-21-00125) RIGHT ILIAC BRIEF CLINICAL HISTORY 58-year-old female being evaluated for erythrocytosis. SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION: The cytospin prepared from the bone marrow aspirate shows predominantly maturing granulocytes admixed with erythroid precursors in a background of scant lymphocytes and monocytes. Immunophenotype analysis has been performed utilizing FACSCanto II instrumentation. Populations are separated by side scatter and CD45 backgating techniques as follows: R1, usual lymphocytes, 10% R2, usual monocytes, 3% R3, usual maturing granulocytes, 69% R4, CD45 dim events, 5% R5, CD45 dim-to-negative events, 12% R1 POSITIVE MARKERS: CD10 = 2%; CD19 = 13%; CD5 = 81%; CD20 = 12%; KAPPA/CD19 = 7%; LAMBDA/CD19 = 5%; CD2 = 85%; CD3 = 82%; CD7 = 77%; CD4 = 47%; CD8 = 34%; CD3/CD8 = 32%; CD56 Total = 8%; CD3 NEGATIVE/CD56 POSITIVE = 4%; HLADR = 14%; CD16 = 5%; CD22 = 12% T cells represent approximately 4/5ths of the events within this gate and express pan T cell markers CD5, CD2, CD3, and CD7 in similar proportions. Helper and suppressor T cells are present with a helper-to-suppressor T cell ratio of 1.4:1.0. B cells represent slightly more than 1/10th of the events within this gate and are positive for CD19 and CD20 with no evidence of CD5 nor CD10 expression. B lymphocytes are polytypic by light chain analysis. R2 POSITIVE MARKERS: CD14 = 55%; CD4 (dim) = 73%; HLADR = 37%; CD13 = 94%; CD33 = 79%; CD34 = 1%; CD117 = 4%; CD16 = 28%; CD56 = 2%; CD14 POSITIVE/CD16 NEGATIVE = 47% The population separated under R2 represents 3% of the total number of events analyzed, and are positive for CD14, dim CD4, HLADR, CD13, and CD33, and interpreted as monocytes. R3 POSITIVE MARKERS: CD10 = 41%; CD13 = 99%; CD33 = 99%; CD34 = 0%; CD117 = 1%; HLADR = 1%; CD16 = 62%; CD14 = 0% Population R3 represents 69% of the events analyzed and interpreted as maturing granulocytes positive for CD13 and CD33. R4 POSITIVE MARKERS: CD19/CD10 = 17%; CD20/CD10 = 2%; CD34 = 8%; CD13 = 54%; CD33 = 42%; HLADR = 69%; CD117 = 12% Population R4 represents 5% of the total number of events analyzed, and positive for CD13 and CD33 with expression of CD34 and CD117 within expected percentages. R5 POSITIVE MARKERS: CD71/GPA = 78% Population R5 represent 12% of total number of events analyzed and is interpreted as erythroid precursors. IMPRESSION/DIAGNOSIS: Non Diagnostic Immunophenotype with: 1) Mixture of T and B lymphoid cells with T lymphoid predominance, and 2) NO phenotype evidence of significant myeloid immaturity. See description. To be correlated with morphology as reported under BM-21-00125.
