Does Pelvic CT Scan Show Accurate Results Without Using Contrast Agents?

I had to see a general surgeon yesterday for an inguinal hernia. He is sending me for a pelvic ct scan but without having to drink the contrast. Is this the norm that I don't have to drink the contrast? Will the results be as accurate without the contrast?
