Does Raspy Voice And Swollen Gland In Throat Of A Child Suggest Strep Throat?

My son s daycare provider texted me that seven of the kids at his daycare have been diagnosed with strep throat, with virtually no symptoms. My son does have a slight raspy voice, and a swollen gland on the left side of his throat, but seems otherwise completly fine. Today is saturday, and if he has it, he would have contracted it a week ago (last friday). Is it okay to wait until Monday to get it checked out, or should I insist that his doctor give him an appointment today? My son is 2.
