Does Recurring Strep Infection Need Removal Of Tonsils?

My throat always hurts. In the past 6 months I've gotten strep throat 3 times, it keeps coming back. My throat is swollen at the moment and it hurts when I swallow. Its a little difficult to breathe when my tonsils swell up like this. Do I need to get them removed?
