Does Sore Throat Indicate Sign Of Throat Cancer?

I am 20 years old and have had a light sore throat for almost 5 weeks now. I went to a ENT a couple of weeks ago and he gave me aciphex, but it hasn’t really helped. I regrettably dipped for a little under 2 years and I cant help but think from what ive read online that I have throat cancer. Do I need to go back to my ENT and talk to him about this?
