Does Surgery To Cure Pain During Intercourse Have Any Side Effects?

I am 26 yr old. Height around 150cm and weight around 46kg. Married 8 months back. But i m having problem with having intercourse with my husband. I feel greater pain while trying intercourse and we never had penetration successfully. When i went for a check up one of the doctor told my hymen is thick but it is broken at some small extent where two fingers can go easily ( three can not) . Another one doctor told vaginal path is narrow and muscles are very tight. Both suggested ointment (ligocaine hydrochloride gel) to use before intercourse and go for a small surgery if it does not work out. I am so psychologically affected and plan to go for surgery. will this surgery have side effects at later point of my life? child birth / sexual life ?
