Does Sustained Usage Of Montek LC And Augpen Safe For Cold And Cough?

Hello Doctor, I am suffering from Cold & Cough since a long time. Everytime I take some medicines it gets cured but comes back very frequently. Recently I visited a good physician and was provided Montek LC and Augpen with one cough syrup. I am a regular smoker and intake of same has increased in past few months.Please advise.
