Does Taking Depakote For Bipolar Disorder Causes Weight Gain?

In addition to Marplan and Abilify, my doctor prescribed Depakote for my Bipolar 2 disorder. However, since I started taking the Depakote I ve gained more weight. I cannot seem to lose the weight. Is there another drug comparable to Depakote (maybe Lamictal) that doesn t have the weight gain side effect? Thank you for your help.
