Does Taking Logynon Stop The Menstrual Cycle?

I have been taking loygnon for abwt 6months and decided this month to take two pill packets back to back after checking the instructions said you were able to this but I have still bleed as like a normal period even when continuing taking the pill? So I am concerned that my pill is not fully protective for the 21days its normally ised for? Please help!!
