Does Taking Birth Control Shot Cause Bumps In Vagina?

I just got a birth control shot on the 11th of this month and have noticed that i developed little red bumps in the vagina area. it only hurts to touch them. I have never had this before. is it possible that i could have gotten this because of the shot?
