Does The Hanging Skin In Vagina Infuse By Itself?

During forplay my boyfriend accidentally cut my labia minora. He has sliced it simalar to shaving a piece of skin off but the pice of skin didnt detatch. Its still hanging on. Needless to say blood was everywhere and he felt terrible. I went to the hospital and the doctor said I should be fine and it will heal on its on that its not too bad. About a half inch of skin is hanging off. She said it should infuse back to the labia or come off. I dont understand how it would infuse back without stitches. And it looks like too much skin is holding it on. Should I clip it off? I dont want a piece of skin hanging in my vagina.
