Does The Removal Of Portion Of Small Intestine Effect The Immunity?

Hi Doctor, 30 years ago I had several feet of small intestine removed because of Crohn s disease. My question is.... what impact did that have on my immune system if any? I am trying really hard through my nutritional diet to boost my immune system and wonder if I m wasting my time and losing the battle. thank you, Grietje
