Does The Surgery On The Nose Bone Avoids The Phlegm Getting Into Middle Ear?

Hiello Doctor,my ENTdoctor operated on my nose bone saying it is bent on one side coursing me to get phlegm in my middle ear.I`ve been having the problem for over 5 weeks, and it is the second time i had the problem. I am 54 years. Never had phlegm problems before/ He also put a tube on my ear drum for the phlegm to drain .
Will this operation help me.
