Does Withdrawal Of Synthroid Cause Cramps In The Extremities?

I have had thyroid surgery in 1991 and have been on synthroid since that time. I had been experiencing terrible cramps in my extremities.I went to the emerged room and nothing speed the pain but 600 mgs of quinnine, but they stopped filling prescriptions for quinnine. I stopped taking Synthroid last MONDAY, February 13 and i have not had a cramp until i took one on FRIDAY. MAY I JUST STOP TAKING THIS SYNTHROID WITHOUT any effects? Have i been taking it too long. I know i need to get a blood Test to see what my T4 Tsh harmone levels are, but may i stop without issues untilthat is done and should i see a special doctor? I did not have insurance so i did not have an endocronalogist. I am just tired of these dibilatating cramps that keep me up at night two or three episodes. HELP ME, please!
