Dr. I Have Swelling And Pain In Thyroid Gland.done Blood

Dr. i have swelling and pain in thyroid gland.done blood test and FNAC. there is no hormonal changes in blood.infection is there in the swelling.here Dr. advised for operation.they are advised for complete removal for the gland. i am confused. if i remove it completely what will be the after effect? could u remove only the nodules?
