During My Childhood It Was Discovered I Had A Coarctation
During my childhood it was discovered I had a coarctation of the aorta, when was at that time addressed. Now, 10 years later, I began having chest pains and my blood pressure is high (135/62) so I met with my cardiologist for and echocardiagram and it found that I also had a bicuspid aorta. He advised yearly echo exams and prescribed two blood pressure medications but implied it would be decades before it would become dangerous. My question would be since it is already diagnosed why not address it now rather than wait, and does waiting to address it put other parts of my heart at risk.
