Eight Weeks Ago I Had Both Knees Replaced Two Days

Eight weeks ago I had both knees replaced two days apart. I'm 77 years old and have been told I'm doing great. The pain can still be crippling when I first get up from sitting and then sitting down is very painful. I've been given Vicodin 5-300MG one every six hours. It doesn't seem to touch the pain. May I take a couple every four hours?
