Ever Since I Was Hospitalized For Almost Half A Year,

Ever since I was hospitalized for almost half a year, I've had an irrational fear of needles. It runs deeply to the point I try to avoid anything associated with with doctors unless absolutely mandatory. Shakiness, shortness of breath, irregular heart beat, (full blown panic attacks) and a horrible feeling in my chest happens just at the thought of it. It chills me to the bones just typing that word. I have a checkup later today to get a refill on my asthma medicine. What type of procedures do they go through for that sort of checkup? If it's important, I'm a fifteen year old female.
