For 5 Days 7 Yr Old Grandson Has Had Cramping

For 5 days 7 yr old grandson has had cramping followed by loose stools We took him to a previously scheduled flu shot appt. at pediatrician. Grandmother mentioned symptoms to nurse giving vaccine and she left room to mention to Dr who was seeing another patient. Dr came to room did not examine grandson but said she would order Imodium. Grandson has been taking Imodium only after bowel movement as directed by Dr. Please note grandson was off yesterday due to Election Day here and did NOT have any cramping followed by any loose stools. Please advise Thank You
