For A Few Months I Have Had Red Tongue With

For a few months I have had red tongue with pain. I have chronic dry mouth from my medications and have tried biotene but it really hurts and my tongue seems to get more raw from it. What could cause this and what can I do,. I had Barretts Esophagus around 9 years ago.
