For About A Year I Noticed A Hard Round Mass

For about a year I noticed a hard round mass the size of a peanut below the skin in the perineum area. It did not hurt until now. The mass has moved towards the surface, it hurts on the touch, and it feels more like a cyst. The area is read and swollen. I have an appointment with my physician on the 1st of March. Could this wait until then or should I go to the emergency?
