For About The Last 6 Months I Have A Dryish

For about the last 6 months I have a dryish "tickle" on left side of throat.... often when I eat, but can happen anytime it seems... it causes me to cough enough to gag and I can't seem to stop it. I do drink water and take cough drops which does seem to help a bit. it happens everyday at least 3 to 7 times, I am 63 yrs old, female, overweight some.
