For Almost A Decade I've Had A Terrible Ear-throat Itch

For almost a decade I've had a terrible ear-throat itch (no pain, popping or hearing issue); fairly sure it's my eustachian tube. It's become so intense in my right ear that I have discoloration/scars around the outside from daily attempts to relieve it, sometimes slight, clear discharge. 90% of my flare-ups occur at home, one of the strangest triggers is when I'm just drifting into a deep sleep and I suddenly "snap" awake; both ears get this inner-draining tingling itch. Otherwise it starts on its own.

Extra:
1. I have no allergies. I do deal with post-nasal drip symptoms (always a little stuffy), but again I didn't always itch.
2. I keep my thermostat in the mid-high 70's year-round. I was starting to think it's a humidity issue indoors.
3. Had a lot of different apartments over the years, and it's happened within all of them.

What can I do???
