For Many Years I Have Felt Very Well Until Late

For many years i have felt very well until late morning when suddenly I feel as though I had been coshed in the head and fall sleep. Later in the day I recover but recently after a shoulder operation the symptoms have been intensified and last much longer. I have heard of others reporting these symptoms. What is it? What is it called? If incurable h\ow can I manage it?
