For Quite Some Time Now, I Have Experienced An Awful

For quite some time now, I have experienced an awful pain on the bottom of my left big toe. It feels as if it has been scraped with heavy-duty sandpaper. There is no visible sign that anything is wrong, but it comes and goes in waves and can be excruciating.
