For Several Months Now, I Have Had A Chronic Clearing

For several months now, I have had a chronic clearing of throat problem that continually gets worse. I have to clear it all the time. I do not have acid coming up and it's not a drain from the sinuses. It's driving me crazy and I am very embarrassed to go out in public because I can't control it, no matter how hard I try.
