For The Last Couple Of Months My Period Is Heavier

For the last couple of months my period is heavier and longer than usual from 3 days to 7 . Plus I've gotten it twice a month and the 2nd time is always a bright red than brown with a funny odor . I had a tubal ligation 4 years ago so I can't be having a miscarriage or be pregnant . What is wrong with me ?
