For The Last Few Months My Urine Has Smelled Like

For the last few months my urine has smelled like a Porta Potty. I thought that was a crazy way to describe it until I started researching and found that hundreds of women are experiencing the same thing and using the same analogy about the porta potty smell. All without any changes in their diet. I am a health nut. I eat right. Drink plenty of fluids. Mine started after a hysterectomy. I had a urologist check to see if I needed my bladder tacked up during the surgery and after getting the info I opted not to have the bladder tacked up with the mesh. I didn't think mine was bad enough to warrant the risks. I have to wonder if the scope he used to go into my bladder caused this. My brother is a doctor. This isn't his specialty. After my surgery the UTI's started immediately. Constant. Burning. Painful. That has stopped but the frequency to urinate is constant. The smell is disgusting. I'm also having pain in my lower abdomen. No more burning sensation. just a need to go often. My fear is that this is bladder cancer. I smoked in my 20's. I'm now 54. I am amazed at the number of women this is happening to and none of them are getting any answers. Some are being put on full time antibiotics which works but what is the real cause?
