For The Past Couple Of Weeks My Mouth Tastes Salty

For the past couple of weeks my mouth tastes salty or metallic when I eat or drink. It lingers after eating and then is not as strong for a while. I do not have dental or gum problems, don't smoke and seldom have a glass of wine. No change in medicines or vitamins. I use Prevention mouth wash and that seems to help for a while. Am 5'6" and weigh 124 lbs, Seems like I have read sometime that this could be a symptom of several diseases but can't remember which ones! My dad died with Alzheimers and my mother from pancreatic cancer. Any connections?
