For The Past Several Days I Have A Slight Pain

For the past several days I have a slight pain under my right ear and stiffness in my neck. My doctor was out but I saw a resident. She examined me and did not find any issues with my ear other than some sinus collection ( regular). She checked my throat, jaw , and glands. Everything seemed fine. She felt it was probably a muscular issue and recommended heat (thermacare pack). The following day I had a massage and asked he to work my neck, shoulders and upper back. She found a great amount of tightness.
Today the area below my outer ear has been painful. The pain is hard to describe. It is regular and is associated with neck movement.
