Four-month Old Baby Girl Has A Cold. She Breathes Ok

Four-month old baby girl has a cold. She breathes ok when in her baby carrier (car seat carrier) but has trouble breathing (and, therefore, sleeping) when she goes to bed at night. She sleeps on her left side in a prone position. Is it awful to put her in her carrier to sleep during the night since she can breathe better and get some sleep?
