Good Evening - For the last several years, I awaken from sleep with a rapid heart rate, tingling sensation from head to toe - face included & burning sensation on my shins.
I did have a sleep test (unrelated to symptoms - have always been exhausted upon awakening since I was a kid). The Dr. indicated narcolepsy (has to be mild, I do not fall asleep w/o 'giving myself permission' but the desire to sleep is always there & I fall asleep within seconds of allowing myself to sleep. Note: burning, tingling sensation ceases once awake and up. Does not occur during the day, only during sleep (ie: naps, and deep sleep)
Any thoughts? - When I was younger (57 now) I could power my way thru day - now my energy & concentration are diminished. Thanks for your time. P.S. 57 y/o caucasian 6' 237 lbs. active but not routine structured exercise last 7 yr.s, no medications, bp is normal (used to be low), no smoke, no drink. Not diabetic although diabetes & heart attacks on maternal and paternal sides of family. I would love to awaken refreshed. Note: I used to have more severe sleep apnea but blow to bridge of my nose slightly lessened deviated septum- now Dr. interprets sleep test as minor apnea. I do still snore enough to wake myself. Ok, t.m.i. Thanks again and Good Luck! Bill YYYY@YYYY
